Visualizing the Death of Print—as a 3D Tyrannosaurus Rex

Paper Age, a short animation by Ken Ottmann, brings the pages of a newspaper to life in crisp 3D to tell the story of the rise and fall of print: A mighty dinosaur stalks through an origami-style forest in a sequence worthy of Jurassic Park. Seconds later, it keels over. Instead of a meteor, however, the murder weapon in this melodrama is a tablet -- with a Google search for Leistungsschutzrecht visible on its screen. The term refers to controversial copyright legislation in Germany that would require search engines and aggregators to pay licensing fees to publishers for displaying snippets of text
