Does Space Make Astronauts (More Than Literally) High?

In this latest installment of the Science off the Sphere series, astronaut Don Pettit is so excited about the physics of water in microgravity that it almost makes you wonder if there's something in the air in the International Space Station. "Look at that! Amazing. Just one of these jaw-dropping moments," he says, squirting air at a floating sphere of water to make it jiggle. He calls these globes "astro puffs" and demonstrates their optics by making faces at the camera through the liquid. Pettit calls a colleague over, "Joe, come take a peek at this!" Off screen, Joe mutters, "Holy crap!"
