'Frankenstorm' Hurricane Sandy Looks Pretty Scary From Space

The International Space Station captured this view of the brewing storm on October 26. Orbiting Earth at an altitude of roughly 200-250 miles, the I.S.S. is in an ideal position to observe hurricanes brewing in the Caribbean, and NASA is always kind enough to share the videos on their multimedia page. Sandy is likely to be declassified as a hurricane before it hits the East Coast of the U.S. but its convergence with a Canadian storm is expected to create a particularly dangerous weather pattern next week.
