Typically and unfortunately, the term "bird's eye view" is figurative. It refers to something seen vaguely "from above," not necessarily "from the particular perspective of a bird in flight."
The advent of mountable GoPro cameras, though, has changed that. Now, we can put a camera on a bird and watch the footage that results. Like the video above, which was shot from an eagle park in France … with the videographer being an eagle with a camera mounted to its back. The bird soars over the Mer de Glace glacier in France's Chamonix Valley, giving us a sense of what flying feels like from an eagle's point of view -- and a sense, too, of what the world looks like when we put a bird on it.
